Interpersonal

Tan Hui Sheng 1O323

Objective:Conduct an interview with a friend(not from HCI)or family member.Find out his/her opinions about crime and punishment or the necessity to communicate in a relationship.Record the interview or write out the interview transcript.

I interviewd my friend Gladis Chua from NJC.She is my primary school classmate. She was my last hope as most of my other friends were reluctant to cooperate with me .She was a bit reluctant but with a bit of coaxing she agreed.A million thanks to her for helping me.Here is the interview transcript.

Tan:Hi

Gladis:Hi

Tan:I need a big favour from you

Gladis:YES??

Tan:Ineed to interview about your opinion about crime and punishment!!Please give your opinion .

Gladis :okay

Tan:Thanks

Gladis:I think crime is something that can be prevented by punishment

Tan :What aboutpunishment,Whatdo you think about punishment

Gladis :Its important

Tan:Why is it important??

Gladis:Punishmenbt is also important because without it people will not hesitate to commit crimes if they want to.

Tan:Thanks for your time

Gladis:No problem you are welcome

  1. Indeed, a good way to understand what people are thinking is to conduct an interview to throughly find out about that person's thoughts, but I was wondering whether you encounter any difficulties when you tried to interview, did she understand your question and is she able to understand the question you are trying to ask? Just want to find out more as I think that after knowing about your experience, it will aid me next time when I try to interview someone in the future. Anyway, thanks for the post!

  2. Yes, this is the second time I am posting on this post as this is Term three. It is good that you gave the relationship between you and the person you are interviewing so as to let the reader have a better understanding on what exactly you are writing but perhaps your questions are too simple. Most of the answer she gave is mostly "Yes, no" answers and the 'long' answers she gave are rather simple and do not really provide any detailed reasons as to why she thinks this way. Just a piece of advice from me to you. Thank you.
